Apparently the daily 10 000 step goal, though impressive, is not rooted in Science. You can achieve a healthy fitness level by walking far fewer steps. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/06/well/move/10000-steps-health.html?unlocked_article_code=1.BE0.XKpQ.XgoDw7cHPH8G&smid=url-share That being said, I miss my fit bit which kept track of my daily steps far better than my phone which is often not on me. I love that you were able to find your keys using an apple tracker. It convinced me to buy one (or two). In the meantime, watch your step while you are keeping fit. Hope the cut to your brow wasn’t too deep.

Thanks for the link. I've decided to cut the goal to 7,000 and to not be so anal about meeting it every day.

I'm with Sharon. The original Japanese study found that more than 7000 steps confers no extra benefit. Hey, does dancing/climbing stairs/biking get counted as steps by your app, much like a Fitbit?

Get well soon! I'm loving these dispatches.

Stairs yes, biking and dancing as steps. Tests show these iPhone apps tends to underestimate total steps and energy burned and, of course, they only work when you have your phone on you
