I went from two weeks of sunny Spain to rainy and cool northern Europe a little too abruptly. It has slowed my creative output so I’m offering this beach memory as distraction while I make my way from Ghent to Bruges, Belgium, today rather than completing this week’s dispatch.
The scene is from Playa de Santa MarÃa del Mar in Cádiz, Spain, from two weeks ago. Cádiz is an ancient port town with Roman ruins and marvellous cuisine on the Atlantic side of the Straight of Gibraltar. The bustling market is an inexpensive place to grab a fresh lunch and several beaches on this sandy peninsula offer plenty of room to spread your picnic blankets and enjoy the enjoy the Andalusian sun and surf.
See you in a day or two.
