My plan to post a second piece today about my weekend in Moissac has been somewhat derailed by illness. Nothing to worry about, I’m on the road to recovery, but still not quite up to the task of writing a comprehensible column.
I’ll be back as scheduled on Wednesday. Meanwhile, here’s a puzzle for you to solve:
Why does the carving of Jesus’ body at the Abbaye Saint-Pierre de Moissac show a stab wound in his chest?
I don’t know the answer, by the way. They never covered that when I went to Catholic school, so you’ll have to tell me.

If memory serves, soldier stabbed Jesus in the abdomen to make sure he was dead. Barbric and gruesome.
